The name “Wollombi” is derived from the Aboriginal meaning “meeting place of the waters”, and prior to European settlement Wollombi held great significance for local Aboriginal tribes who used the area as a ceremonial meeting place.
From Sydney take M1 to Calga/Peats Ridge exit (Route 33). Pass through Central Mangrove, Bucketty and Laguna. Pass GNTP on left, pass Mulla Villa on left, continue 1km along at Gleghorn's Bridge take the driveway tucked in on the left and at top before the main house, make a sharp left and head down to the cabin. Approx 2hours from Sydney CBD.
From Cessnock follow Wollombi Road through Bellbird and Millfield until you reach Wollombi Village. Make a left onto Great North Road (towards Calga/Wisemans Ferry). Driveway is on the right hand side just past the tourist boards. Follow driveway past the main house keeping to the right.
One bedroom, self-contained accommodation in a slab timber cabin overlooking the Wollombi Brook and rural pastures. Cowboys is a short walk from the historical Wollombi village filled with cafes, galleries. shops, cellar doors and churches. Available for 1 night bookings mid-week, two night minimum stay on weekends and 3 night minimum preferred for long weekends. Rates start from $200 per night.
